Years ago, in the outlaw days of Williamsburg, we saw Future Islands open for Dan Deacon in a vacant lot next to the M train. Immediately hooked, we became followers of all things Future Islands and ended up falling in love with a charming little music video for the song “Balance” which was shot and edited by our now friend Jay Buim.

It’s the doors you don’t knock that won’t answer.

Jay accepted our request to be his editors and our first collaboration as a team was accepted to the Seattle International Film Festival in early 2012. Shortly thereafter we had an opportunity to cement our partnership with our mutual love of Future Islands.

We cut the official music video for “Seasons” - which was released with the Singles album in early 2013. The song, video and the record became an overnight success and created superstars out the band.

By the end of the year, we were able to cut another video for the record - “Song for Our Grandfathers” plus a short documentary about the band entitled Road Dawgs.

“Beauty of the Road” - our latest Future Islands video with Jay from 2018 marks six solid years of the most important creative relationship we’ve had to date and we’re still enjoying the hell out of it.
